We are pleased to announce that Stefan Schreieder has been invited to deliver a sectional lecture at the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) 2026, in Section 4: Algebraic and Complex Geometry. The ICM, held every four years and organized by the International Mathematical Union (IMU), is the most prestigious event in the mathematical sciences, where the Fields Medals and other major awards are also presented. The 2026 edition will take place in Philadelphia, USA.
An invitation to speak is a rare and highly selective honor. This year’s list of speakers can be found here: ICM 2026 Speakers. The program committee responsible for selecting ICM speakers remains confidential until the Opening Ceremony of the Congress. More information about the history of the ICM is available on Wikipedia.
